Eric Yakes is the Founder and Managing Partner of Epoch – a bitcoin infrastructure focused venture capital firm. He left distressed private equity buyouts to join the bitcoin revolution by authoring The 7th Property – a best selling new release and internationally published book on bitcoin. As a CFA charter holder, his thought leadership is focused on the financial community helping them understand the revolutionary investment characteristics of bitcoin. Eric is a founding member and board Chairman of The Space Education Foundation – a Denver based non-profit educating the masses on technology, economics, and bitcoin.

Ali Chehrehsaz is the CEO and co-founder of TerraVerde Energy, where since 2010 he has led the development and operation of solar powered microgrid infrastructure for critical facilities across California. His work focuses on making distributed energy systems bankable, resilient, and operationally durable.
Ali is now advancing a new model for rural electrification called Powering the Grid-less that integrates flexible compute, including Bitcoin mining and AI, directly into off-grid solar and battery plants. In collaboration with local developers, he is helping pioneer compute-anchored mini grids in rural communities that use digital workloads as a buyer of first and last resort, creating a revenue floor that makes projects viable from day one.
At MITA Tech Talks, Ali will explore how this approach enables industrial-scale renewable deployment in remote communities without the fear of stranded assets. By decoupling generation economics from local demand, Ali’s work demonstrates how solar-powered infrastructure can simultaneously deliver strong financial returns and accelerate global electrification.

Brianna Honkawa d’Estries has been building in Bitcoin since 2021, holding senior roles across some of the industry’s most consequential companies. She served as Chief of Staff at Lightning Labs and NOAH, VP of Brand at ZBD, and has contributed to Primal, the leading Nostr client, and written about Bitcoin for Forbes. She also works with developer D++, collaborating on Bitcoin education through games, reaching people around the world.
She is the founder of Evento, an open-source event organizing platform with a built-in Bitcoin Lightning wallet, funded by the Human Rights Foundation. She is also the founder of Hack4freedom, an open-source all-women’s Bitcoin and freedom technology hackathon series operating across Africa and Brazil. A core organizer of TABConf since 2021, she has spent years building and connecting the Bitcoin developer community.
Brianna came to Bitcoin through its human rights potential and has stayed committed to that mission. Her work centers on diversifying the Bitcoin developer ecosystem — getting more women, marginalized communities, and people from the places where Bitcoin is needed most into the industry as builders. She believes the technology only lives up to its promise if the people building it reflect the world it’s meant to free.
